Sales Tax & Tax Exemption

The U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc. has changed sales and use tax laws in many states. In order to ensure compliance, Hogan Assessments recruited Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP to review how these new laws impact our future and past sales activity. Their review discovered that we now have established nexus in states that have recently enacted economic nexus laws. This means that tax applies to Hogan transactions from our assessment platform within certain states. Hogan Assessments believes it is in the best interest of all stakeholders, including customers, to properly charge sales tax on taxable sales and be in full compliance with all applicable tax laws. Accordingly, we are moving towards charging sales tax on all applicable transactions effective October 1, 2020, unless a valid exemption or resale certificate is on file that negates the requirement to collect tax on your transactions.

We kindly request that you provide us with a valid resale or exemption certificate in order to avoid having tax be charged on your purchases.
